Im looking for some thoughts and input guys (and gals)! Ive got a 98 4runner SR5 V6 2wd. I want to lower it but a taco frame swap for bags may never be in my future. Ive been doing some research. Front Tacoma 2wd lowering springs, even drop spindles will fit my 4runner. What Im thinking about doing (probably January or february time frame) is getting a set of 2" Tacoma lowering springs and (yes I know this is HIGHLY indesireable) cutting 1 coil off the bottom of the rear coil springs and cutting a little off the bump stops. Im trying to get a 2" drop front and rear. I also know that with my runner on the ground (in stock form) that their is roughly 6 to 7" clearance between the axle and frame rails. This will be my first time attempting a suspension mod where an aftermarket kit was not available. I will be looking at january or february time frame because right now my budget (which is very little) is going toward my audio install. I have an Alpine CDA-9885 (already in the truck), JL Audio C2 650-CS (6.5" mids, .75" tweets and crossovers), a black edition JL Audio 300/4 slashv1 amp, 4 JL Audio 10W1v2-4 (each is a single 4ohm vc and 2 are already in the truck) and 2 black edition JL Audio 250/1 slashv1 amps (one already installed). All of the stereo equipment is items I already have, i just need a box for all 4 10s and a run of 1/0ga power wire and a distribution block
