Mine didn't rub... Maybe your dust cover is out of round...

I went from a 410 to a 307 on the same drive shaft, changed the flange at the diff to fit my shaft..

My drive shaft did seem slightly into the trans farther but mine didn't rub, just check to make sure your dust cover isn't bent. What did you swap from? 410?

I bought a tacoma 4x4 driveshaft and it has double cardan u joints and a slip spline. I haven't had any problems using it (when I was static).
Some people cut out or modify the stock driveshaft. But doesn't it need to be balanced?

on my driveshaft its the end of the dust cover thats rubbing... so its round... i went from a 7.5" 3.58 gears... and all of my 4x4 driveshafts have flanges on both ends not a slip on one end... so how did you make it work.. and if you cut minimal and line your yokes back up...you usually dont have to get the driveshaft rebalanced...

Is the driveshaft bottoming out in the trans too? The 8" diff is a bit bigger so a shorter shaft may be needed...

Oh I miss understood your swap, I thought you went from an 8inch to an 8 inch. I havnt swapped from an 7.5 to an 8 before... I know the diff is longer, maybe that's your issue.

Like b.y.e said, drive shaft bottoming out. Get a drive shaft from a trck with an 8 inch,

well...go hit the junk yards and get a drive line...pretty sure it will fix your problem. I would measure yours first that way when you pull it you done end up with the same length...or just have it cut and ballenced. its like 150 bucks here, IDK where you are at but should be somewhere around that.
