I have a quick question: Are the two wheel drive and four wheel drive motor mounts the same on our trucks?
I was given a Ford 5.0 V8 motor this weekend and am looking into an engine swap. I found the bolt-on motor mounts for the swap, but they seem to be for 4x4's. I just wanted to make sure that the holes on the frame would line up before calling to order.
    Thanks for the help. :waytogo:

Yes as long as the 4x4 is not a v6.

Good choice with the Ford V8.

Thanks guys. I'm not really looking to make a hot-rod, I just want some more power to get up the hills and to tow my pop-up trailer. We have the Eisenhower Tunnel here in Colorado and the huge hill to climb to get up to it.
I wasn't planning on an engine swap as I like the truck and how well balanced it is. Everything seems well engineered to work together. But the opportunity came up and I couldn't resist.
The plan is to do an 8.8 rear diff swap from an Explorer (something I planned to do all along for the brakes and such.) and swap in the 5.0 motor and a T5 tranny from a Mustang.
It'll be a long time just gathering parts and rebuilding everything before I'm ready to install, but when I do, I'll make a build thread.
Thanks again and I'll probably be asking a bunch of odd questions as this rolls along.
