Some time ago while searching for a complete different thing, came across a couple of posts that talk about why 22rec/22re blocks should not be use for a 22r build. Now I am searching for those posts but can't find them.
If anyone knows a link to a thread that explains that, could you send me a link.

Hmmm, never heard of such... I think it's a better block to build...

I also remember reading a few posts about this. Maybe pm V8 TITAN on here. I seem to remember him saying in one of the threads that he had done it before with no problems...

This is good news to me. Possible I might have misread. I'd assumed there wouldn't be an issue, this is why I thought I'd check.

Yea go for it bro, it's a better casted block hence the "laser" badge... The problem was with the older 22r casting. Machine shops that were doing the big bore 94mm slugs ran into some impurities and could not achieve the proper finish needed.... But, that's just what I read so take it with a grain of salt... On the other hand it makes logical sense in my book... :waytogo:

Plus the lighter piston design coupled with a shorter deck height makes it more rev happy!!

I'm trying to get mine together for next spring, we'll see how the funds and time play into that plan tho... Good luck with your build!

Thanks BYE. I'm learning the hard way from my errors by doing before researching. So I thought I'd try it, research then build.
