I'm having issues with idle at cold start and when slowing down with brake depressed. the truck surges or revs when brake pedal is pushed. ??????????? i just replaced head, timing cover, water pump, timing chain, gears, all gaskets, and now having an issue with the idle when brake is depressed and truck overheating. replaced thermostat ?? could this be a radiator issue????? it does not have a thermostat in it as of right now, i took it out to see if that was the issue.

have checked brake booster and vaccuum and no change on the idle when brake depressed. any help would be great.... please pm with help!!!!!!!

    the truck is a 1989 22re 5spd 4x4 non a/c truck

vacuum is highest at decel and idle because the throttle is closed. look good for any vacuum leaks get a can of starting fluid and spray it around the manifole and on some vacuum hoses also make sure your pcv valve is working and the hose is good. as for the over heating get the truck to normal operating temp and turn off the truck if the fan doesnt stop spinning within 2 seconds change the fan clutch.
