22r/re heads

    will all the efi crap from a 22re bolt onto a carbed 22r head? i have found a 22r head for sell, and if it will work i'll get it for my 88 4x4.

    should work, just got to plug up the mechanical fuel pump opening...

    some will work, and some will not.


    typically pre 84 22rs do not have the stud holes for efi.


    im sure you could drill and tap some holes to make it work if you had to.





    but either way carb n efi intakes have different bolt patterns

    i picked up the head today and installed it. everything swapped right on. just got to tidy up a few wires and hoses fill it with water/oil and see what happens.

    on a side note you cant use a newer 22r head with a older block.


    the deck height is different so the timing chain will be off no matter what.

    hey nuff, re should compile all this info and put it into the tech base.
