Ok I know this has probably been asked a million times, but I can't find the answers!

I am going to fully build and supercharge my 22R. Big pistons, valves, cam, headers w/full straight exhaust to some sort of muffler, and everything in between. Anyone have a link to a good build thread or any info as to what I can expect to see hp/tq wise from this?

I know everyone says motor swap, but I really don't want to do that on this and won't do it on this project.

So any advice on building the 22R, articles, threads, and extra reading I can be pointed towards would be great and appreciated...

Or I guess I could possibly go with a 302...Any build threads on that setup?

I still say on boost you don't need a "big cam", you just need one that is designed for boost. You wont really gain anything putting the biggest cam you can in a boosted motor. Air is being forced in, so you dont need a huge amount of lift to suck air in, since it is already moving in quick under pressure. Similar with valves, larger valves and porting will gain you a little power. But air is being forced in, so the gain will be smaller on a boosted motor than on an N/A motor. Power is built completely different when it comes to boost. Ideally I would do some valves and porting, a boost cam, turbo pistons and head gasket if you want to push 10 PSI. ARP head studs and stronger valve springs. Enough boost will try to push open a weak used valve spring.

    302 swap

Has anyone actually finished this swap? I found one build, but so far that's it and I know there are more. I am also wanting to put a mustange 5-speed trans in it, but not sure which one will work the best yet.

Questions: Will the firewall/floor have to be modified? I am Zing my frame so the motor mounts will be moved down one-two inches. How will the electric fans have to be mounted?

Just the common pre-start worries and my research skills seem to suck lately.

Use a T5 froma 5.0. Strong and plentiful, easy to find and usually cheap.

Still no build thread links? I saw blackwidow, but was looking for one a few more.

Thats what I was thinking Seth. How much bigger is the belhousing on that VS the 4-speed yota?
