So I have this 20r that I got from guy who used it on his crawler. The engine ran really good before he pulled it. My thing is that this engine just needs the transmission and all the necessary engine parts to get it running again. My buddy who rebuilt his 22r tells me its better to go with a 22r but it seems simpler to just get my 20r completed. I just dont want to lose his expertise if I tell him I want to go with the 20r. This truck wont see a alot of miles or will I drive it hard. Its more of a second truck for cruising! Let me know what you guys think. Im not an expert with engines so I know if I go with the 20r Ill be asking for the list of parts I will need.

i dont understand why people think the 22r is so much better than the 20r there is barely a difference in power and torque .. i would just go with the 20r since you already have it or do what cin said and build a hybrid

Ive had a rock stock 22R in my truck...

    Some time later...

    And now a stock 20R.

22R was a little more powerful. But this 20R is getting rediculously good gas milage. :D

I've had both. Not a ton of difference. If you have the 20R, I'd say use it.
