Does anyone know if someone has already swapped a 1UZFE into a RN34 before? I've seen it swapped into newer trucks but wondering if anyone has attempted it on the older, non-ECU/non-EFI models.

I've got a hookup on a great deal for a low-miles 1UZ with an auto transmission, full wire harness, and ECU from a SC400.

Also, is anyone familiar with a shop that would be a good fit for doing that kind of swap somewhere in Texas? I'm located in Austin but willing to roadtrip within the state for a proper shop.

    I'm sure someone has...somewhere.

The frame didn't change much from '79-'95.

Engine bay might be a little tighter, but it's only sheet metal.

If you're going to have a shop do it, it shouldn't worry you...

    I'd go for it!

I've seen it on a few trucks, most of them were 4wd though. I'd think it wouldn't really matter whether the truck was EFI or not, all of it gets removed and the engine/trans basically act as their own unit in an engine swap like this. Just start calling up shops and inquire. Not gonna be cheap though, I asked a few shops in CA and none really could give a straight answer since every build is essentially custom, it'd probably start at $4k...in labor...
