Hey everyone, A few weeks ago my brother bought me a 1982 SR5 RN41 Hilux (he felt sorry for me having to spend a boat-load of money moving back to Australia from Canada). [EDIT]The thumbnail images don't open correctly, so you'll have to use the link above to see the larger versions.[/EDIT] Before moving to Canada, I had put a 1UZ into a 1981 Hilux, but sold it to fund a 1977 RA28 Celica project, which I still have. The bad news is, I shipped the Celica to Canada, thinking I was moving there for good. My indecisive Canadian girlfriend has since decided Canada is too cold (how did she not know that!?). So now I have the dilemma of either selling the Celica or shipping it back. So anyway, back to the Hilux... over the last couple of weeks it's seen a lot of love: battery valve stem seals ignition coil ignition leads rotor / cap / condenser spark plugs oil filter oil change Air filter radiator flush / new coolant rebuilt / cleaned carb vacuum hoses washer bottle motor / lines full tune-up following the "green bible" 18R Engine Repair Manual regreased all joints repainted wheels degreased / repainted chassis Plans for the future are: Fix the tacho Bleed brakes and possibly new pads/rotors/drums/shoes Bleed clutch roadworthy / rego "T" center caps square-edge 14" wheel trim rings Older style chrome bumper Possibly 6-rectangle 4x4 grille Wooden sides like my last Hilux Inherit my Celica's 18R-GU when I build an angry one for the Celica You might have already guessed from the links above, but I made the website retrojdm.com which has a bunch of repair manuals, owners manuals, and brochures scanned. I've recently got the Hilux Repair Manual, so I'll have to get busy and scan that too!
thanks guys Which gauge cluster you you mean? The factory SR5 one on my current Hilux, or the custom one I made for my last Hilux?
