Do you have a wideband air/fuel gauge?? you running a piggyback?? sounds like it could be the ecu but you will have to have someone look at it. if you are running a piggyback then could be something to do with the map. but that would be super rare.

    spark plugs?
    or injectors?

maybe after cold start there's too much fuel.

What about an air leak? My 22re did the same thing. Once it warmed up rpms dropped an sounded like it was missing. Fixed the air leak an no more

sounds to me like a ECT or IAT sensor is unplugged and out of range.

Once the engine goes into closed loop, it think its 40 below zero and overfuels the crap out of it.

I was having this problem on my mustang last weekend. :waytogo:

just got the truck not to long ago and when i was bringing it home it started..... i know its running a piggyback, replaced plugs and coils i checked for any kind off boost leak, the check engine light works but it doesn't come on when it happens, tried to read the flash codes anyway but im not getting anything ......so i guess ill check the ecu and see whats going on there thank you everyone for the help.

Just another idea is it once it has wormed up? My 2jz truck would do that as well. I would start and idle at 1k but once warm it would drop to 500. I just messed with the idle adjust screw and got it set to idle at 1k all the time. I will get a pic of it later tonight for you to show were is should be.

yeah its not really when it gets to operating temp its really kinda random and when it bogs down it usually stalls but will start back up but miss like crazy i wish i new more about the truck but the guy i bought it off of wasn't very helpful and he didn't build it ether so im going off very little hear but the more and more i play with it its just seemingly more and more like the ECU....

Yeah I would get a video of it in action and get onto supraforums and ask there as well. Try and locate another ecu tho just in case.

I agree with your point of view, there have been some engine problems.
