I am looking to trade or sell my 1987 VW Golf GL MKII. Has a clean title, 194K on the chassis, but a new motor with less than 50K. Just did final drive seals and a new PS axle. Has had a ton of maintenance, runs great and gets about 36 MPG. Has a 5 speed manual, nice Alpine stereo, very clean interior. The paint is stock, and clean for its age, but it has some dents here and there. Its lowered with coilovers, on MKI steel wheels, and brand new tires. Comes with many extra parts, flares and trim, interior stuff, marker lights, Yakima bike rack, etc.

I want to trade for an automatic car for my wife, she has trouble driving this thing. Would prefer another German car, or Japanese car. Or will trade for an early 90s 4Runner. But open to offers, so let me know what you have, has to be automatic.

I would love to keep it, its such a cool car. I will keep it if she can get better at driving it. But we will see what happens.

Ehh, like $3500 OBO. I just did both new axles, final drive seals, throw out bearing, a sub and an amp. Last part doesn't have to stay, since its a PG XS6600 I would rather keep, and an Alumapro. Both where for my red truck, lol.

I didn't think she would go for this really, since she is kind of shy. But she asked if she could have someone else teach her, because she is too embarrassed to mess up in front of me. Lol.

I have had so many Civic trade offers. I'd really want like another Jetta or Golf thats auto, or a 4Runner. I really want a 4Runner.

my girl is kinda shy as well (unless she's had one or two then her inner social butterfly comes out-this of course amusses me since she is studying psychology) but she is a good person to teach how to drive a stick. just figured i'd throw it out there. if she decides to change her mind let me know i'll set it up.

How far away is your girl? She pretty much wants someone else to teach her at this point.

she lives in antioch (end of the east bay) and goes to school in pleasant hill (concord) and i think she's doing some school stuff in oakland a few days a week next term so she's looking for a place closer to pleasant hill and oakland area. kinda tough with a dog, 4 cats, and unemployed parents with only 4 hours a week of verifyable income. we had 2 other roomates, but they decided to go drown on their own (which is exactly what is happening just like we told them) just outside of richmond.
