    Greetings members.
    I have a 1978 Toyota mini motorhome.
Unfortunately I had my left rear axle shaft break last week. I was going slow so no damage to the rig. Hauling a spare 20R long bloc on the rear deck was I suspect the culprit.
I will be installing a gm 12 bolt 6 lug rear axle as a replacement. This will allow me to go to single rear wheels.
New spring perch's are ordered. I'm not sure what adapter I will need to connect my driveshaft to the new axle.
    Have any members done this?

I also have remaining axle parts including a 4.10.1 ring gear. In addition I have a complete set of duel rear wheels 14" x 5 lug x 4.5 from the same vehicle. If interested, shoot me a PM. thanks, Fred.

Not sure why my post landed on this thread. I'm sure I. Selected earlier model thread. Chalk it up to me being a "newbie".

You should probably have a driveline shop make you a driveshaft instead of trying to run an adapter. Most likely the new diff will be different in measurements which will make your old driveshaft not work anyway, and an adapter could throw the balance of the shaft off, causing problems from bearing and u-joint wear to vibrations and annoying noise. Once the diff is installed, Just take the measurements to the shop and they can make a shaft with the Toyota front and the GM rear mounts as needed.
    I hope this helps.

    Makes sense to me.
