I am preparing to have my 77 pickup painted as original in color: Medium Blue. I have installed new repro taillights that have a gray outer frame, and I have the new L/R (unpainted) front fascia/grilles. I cannot locate any good photos of the grill section, but I know that the outer portion of the front fascia that snaps on to the fenders is to be painted Medium Blue. Attached are photos of the old and new grille - I am thinking I will leave the inside grille section alone and just clear coat that section.

If anyone knows if the grilles were painted another color on the Medium Blue truck originally, please let me know. If they were close to my new inner grille's existing color, then I will say close enough for a 47 year old vehicle. Thanks for your input!

You will want the stainless steel beauty rings for the headlight openings if you want the true factory look. You will need a total of 4 rings. Buying any less amount will not work. Some are on eBay.

I have a spare set of 4 which I might consider selling if you have no luck locally.

Your build plate will give you the factory paint code as well as the trim code. A Toyota dealer might be able to help on the trim code, but doubtful. My front end after painting grills.

How do the stainless dress rings stay in place- a small amount of silicone?

Friction fit. They have small serrations on the backside that grip the plastic grill. You could add a thin layer of clear silicone to the backside for extra hold, but you shouldn’t need it if your rings are in good shape.
