Hey guys I'm looking to build a exhaust any opinions on to throw under it, right now it's cut right after the cat converter so it loud :eyecrazy: drives me nuts. I'm looking to lower the front end, I have 4in blocks on the way. I will get some pictures up soon, maybe up Thursday after the blocks get here. Let me know if anyone has springs or has opinions on the exhaust

Mighty max springs drop springs work.

And how quiet do you want the truck? And how much do you want to spend

Well for exhaunt I'm looking for a deeper sound something that's gonna turn heads, but to where I'm able to hold a conversation in the cab.

Magnaflow or a turbo muffler will shut it up pretty good. Glasspack will still be on the loud side but tolerable.

Im personally going to use a turbo muffler ive had in the garage for the last 4 years lol

Flowmasters sound like crap on 4 cylinders unless there is a glass pack in front of it but at that point you've already spent more then if you'd have just bought a good muffler from the start.

I really like my MagnaFlow it fits the bill for what you want to a tee but it wasn't cheap.

I've never ran that style but it's a good price. It will be easy to fit under the truck too.

Did you check to see what those go for online?

Ive always liked the sound ofa magnaflow muffler over anything flowmaster.

Its all going to have to be custom since theres nothing out for anything pre-84

Every exhaust system should be custom anyway unless you simply don't care about fitment and just want the exhaust gasses to make it out the back.

The head pipe that comes with LCE'S headers hangs below the frame a couple inches. I did a series of pie cuts to tuck it up even with the bottom of the frame to match the rest of the system. I understand they do that so it fits all minor variables in build tolerances but it just goes to prove that one size doesn't fit all if you want it right.

Even the stock downpipes stick down below the framerail. I have had both the single and dual-style pipes on my truck and both were notably lower than the rail. I always figured Toyota did it to keep the converter away from the cab floor.

Magnaflow is certainly a better muffler than Flowmaster, but try to find an oval case vs. that bullet-style you linked to. Buy the longest case you can physically fit in there, your ears will thank you. I ran a 24" oval case Magnaflow on my old V6 S10 with no cat or resonator and it was as quiet as a stock truck until you got into the throttle.

I'm picking up that muffler right now installing it and I'll let you know how it sounds. Still getting the back fire sputter thing tho.

That would be greatly appreciated. I got the muffler but it's a 2.25 and I have a stock Toyota exhaust so I'm gonna have to figure that out and the carb issue. Then it should be good to go.

Any parts store will have the required adapters that weld in. Personally I'd start over from scratch with all 2 1/4" tube. Stock exhaust sucks.

I agree stock exhaust sucks but I don't have a welder so I'd have to take it to an exhaust shop
