Hi everyone, im new to the forum. I have a 93 single cab that i would like some advice on. The truck currently has a smallish body lift, larger rear shackles, tightened torsions, and 31" tires. It look ok but im looking to lower it.
    1. So, what parts do i need to replace the bodylift with a normal set up. I saw some cab to frame bushings on ebay but do i probably need new hardware too. Does anyone know where to get a complete kit?

    2. To lower it a good amount, i was thinking stock shackles, 4" blocks in the rear, and to remove the middle spring. Is the setup decent or will it be bottoming out?

    3. Is the bolt pattern from a 2010 5 lug taco the same as my 93? and will the backspacing be ok?

    4. And lastly, can i just loosen up the front torshins to achieve a decent stance, or will i need drop spindles?

It would be a big help if someone can post up some links where to buy some of the stuff. THANKS!!!:D

dont pass on those bushings. wherever you buy them. saves a lot of vibrations.

Ok but does the bed need them or does it mount directly to the frame. And i assume i would need shorter hardware.

they will go on top of your frame, under neath the bed. if there is a body lift on your truck, chances are it came with new hardware (longer) which you would have to change back to factory. just measure the bolts and grab some grade 8 from the hardware store to the sizes you need.

Welcome to TM. Nice to see another Cali guy. Well you could post on craigslist that you want to trade some one straight across for the stock stuff-for your lifted stuff. Or trade plus alittle cash. If you ran 4in blocks in back and middle leaf gone it wont botttom out but you will need to either cut your bump stops or take them off. Also if your shocks are blown or your running bigger size tires it will. Any lower than that you will need to get a baby c-notch done. Yes you can achieve a good stance by loosing the torsions down. But it will be a little ruff of a ride. But you can get another inch in drop up front by doing a B/J flip. Got any pics of your truck.

Is the ball joint flip hard to do? Or is it just un bolt and flip? I'd like my truck to have the stance of the red one in the pic.

I bought the truck a few months ago, im not a member on that site. The bodylift doesnt seem that cool anymore, and a good suspension setup is really pricey esp. for a high school student... so i just want to do something different.

    Ok, so my plan is:
Remove body lift and replace with polyurathane bushings.
DJM 3/4 kit (blocks, lca, etc.)
    flipped ball joints
    stock rear shackles
smallertires on my 15" procomp steelies

My question is, should i go with 3" blocks and removed middle leaf, or just 4" blocks?

    Does everything sound ok? thanks

Ok a few more questions, it looks like my ball joints have some sort of spacer, to lift it, when i flip them, can i use them to lowerit and then not run the torshins so low?
And on the frame there appears to be 4 tabs to support the bed for the body lift, do i just cut them off when removing the lift? They are welded on and the bed rests on them. thanks

hey TRD...nice looking truck. kind of the picture i have in my head for how i want mine to look. do you have more pics of it? how's the ride quality? i'm currently lowered with a bj flip, 3" blocks and middle leaf removed and just feel that a lift would be more useful for my needs.

The ride is honestly a little rough. Im still on the fence about dropping it. Do you got any pics of your truck?
