okay so i have a problem in my truck. every time i take a sharp turn and give it gas the power doesn't go to the differential until im exiting the turn not during. so the truck feels like it has been put into neutral and as soon as i exit the differential gets power again and i end up peeling out!! what can it be?? and im taking turns around 30-40mph so why does the differential get no power during the turn???
dont take turns that fast, thats the problem. lol If you wanna go fast get out of the yota and pickup and AWD sti or evo.
auto or manual tranny? is it possible to get a incar video of this happening? a open diff will put power to the wheel that spins the easiest, and in a turn that fast it would be the outer wheel. i find it a lil hard to believe that you are "peeling out" after the corner with your foot on it through the corner. you should end up spinning out driving like that even with a open diff. or.... your car isnt powerfull enuff to accelerate on hard turns, then you straighten out and move off. its also possible im misunderstanding the problem and you need to explain it better.
okay its a manual transmission.. okay i come into the turn accelerating.. when im on the turn the truck skips.. it feels like it is going into neutral and back into gear and as soon as im out the turn the back tires peel out its crazy i rode with my cousin and he doesnt know what it is!
Ok, I'm trying to grasp all this. You say it feels like it's dropping into neutral, does the rpms on the engine go way up? Like it really is in neutral? I know, sounds like a dumb question! And how sharp of turns are we talking here?
2WD OR 4WD, if 4wd sounds like something @ the hubs( not locked),also check all the u-joints,that you don't have some slippage there. If all that is good would have to be @ the trans.
there is also a possiblitly of you stripping out the spider gears or having lost the splines on a axl. or in english: to many burnouts have made your 1 legger into a true 1 legger with no possibility of power going to the other tire. will this happen on both left and right turns or just one way?
If that was the case there would be loud grinding noise. No way for anything in the drivetrain to slip without any grinding noise. Most likely you are lifting a tire and the diff is putting power to the tire in the air.
ok ya when it feels like it drops into neutral the RPM's do go way high.. thats why the truck skips but its both tires.. after the turns its both tires that peel out.. and they are hairpin turns which mean complete sharp u turns...
also also none of the tires are in the air all four wheels are on the ground.. it must be in the in the differential or drive shaft.. engine and trans are fine.. its just i have my foot on the gas most of the way during the turn but the rpm's go high and its catching but slipping at the same time so it skips.. and as soon as the truck straightens out the back tires are letting out smoke because they are peeling out
