so i am getting rid of the original style toyota E brake that you have to pull out of the dash. and going to the kind that all cars have that you pull up from the floor. but dont really know what to do about the cables anybody got any ideas let me know because i dont think its safe to cut the cable and clamp it together.
i was going to do the same thing. if you go to any bicycle shop they should be able to cut you a cable to length, i was thinking of goin and drilling a hole through the floor then running a bike cable front the bracket under the truck through the hole then to the brake handle. hope this helps
I say go for it. All I remember from looking underneath is this bracket that goes from 1 cable to 2 cables. I hate our e-brakes... really inconvienent
i actually like them. but ive gotten used to rippin them at speed as i whip the wheel left or right. lol. we used to have fun in front of my old work. get up to about 60 and do that in the street. lol. but, it should be fine if you use a couple heavy duty clamps on the cables.
Yep! I use the stock one to drift corners. But it is hard on your back. I don't agree with the bicycle cable idea. It might not hold up to a high speed slide. But you could get a master cylinder and hook it up to the floor lever. And then run hydraulic lines to the rear. It's possible.
yeah. run a check valve to a tee in the stock line to the rear. use a clutch master. guys do that alot on sports cars. and put in an adjustable proportioning valve. that way when the brake pedal is used, it wont backfeed to that booster and overflow it. and has a way to limit the max pressure at full pull. would be pretty cool to set up actually. thats got some wheels turning in my head now. lol. key phrase here is "uh oh"
Motorcycle cable is much better... A bicycle cable in 2mm and a motorcycle clutch cable is 3-5 much stronger.
xcabs weight around 2800-2900 respectively Eh, the thicker motorcycle cable is better than the bicycle cable lol
