    74' HILUX RN25 12R
Hi everybody, my name is Chris and i'm from Greece. I study car technology and mechanology and i'm a great fan of Toyotas. My grandpa has a Toyota Hilux 72'-yellow (RN25 model type), so i have spend much time with this car, because we use it most as agricaltural. I'm proud of this car for being our friend for about 38 years and although the heavy work, it works properly. We have changed once the first engine 1.6L (probably the 12R if i'm not wrong) and now has a 1.8L which code i wait from my mechanic (i have read of 16R 1.8L of the hilux, but i'm not sure). That's all about me and i'm glad to be in your company, i hope i will find some information about it or somewhere to find spare parts.

    (sorry for any english mistakes):D

    Welcome to the board.

I'm sure there are plenty of guys here that can, and are more than willing to help out. Including myself.

I always feel for guys/gals with these trucks in areas where parts and trucks themselves are tough to come by.

Just let us know what you're in need of. Pics (of your truck) would be great! Being a 72' you must have the Toyota emblem on the hood...right?

RN25, I believe, is the equivalent to the States' RN20.

yeah. i went back to steelies. and need a new grille. corner broke out. i think ill probably mold both halves into one large piece. should look a little cleaner. are the 72-74 that way?

and if you need any small parts let us know, there seems to be about 10-12 of us on here with this era truck so finding things shouldnt be too tough actually. especially for small parts.

That's right nowdays this car is an era car, not just a used track. So i agree that is difficult to find parts. Yes, toy-boy it has the emblem on the hood- the triangle-silver one you know. I think the grille is the same (Rn25, i don't know if there is the RN20, i don't see differences..although we talk about mk2), my grille is a silver one, you probably had painted yours the same colour as the truck. My grille is broken a little bit too at the corner but we have fix it with glue i think. That's why i have registered to this forum..to talk about it, because i can find only a few original parts that i don't need by now, so all the other parts are from used cars (difficult to find good-by 40 years old cars) or aftermarket that i don't know quality. I am a little bit far from my village, so i wait from my grandpa to tell me the parts and the engine code (if anyone knows the 1.8L 4-cyl carburator engines of these car-hp-Nm...would be good) . Some necessary parts that i need are: valve springs or even better valves, crankshaft bearings and overall engine internal spare parts, steering mouldings, everything spare parts i can find woul be better. I recently changed honeycomb radiator-custom, but it works well. If you know about changing carburator will be nice, because i have the manufacturer's..the stock black. Thanks for the interest (i was a little boring), I promise i will put pictures when i see the truck!!;)

i know its not a 'small part', but do any of you guys have a spare rear tail body you're willing to part with? looking at buying a RN25 aswell but it just has a flat tray on the back at the moment.. and if i buy it i know i'd want the tail body for it so trying to source that first! been trying to find places to get them from (Asia etc) but no luck so far :(

thanks for any help in advance
    Sonja
