so I got my weber installed, work great but theres a damn vacuum leak still, I have plugged all visable vacuum, is there something i'm missing, like a super secret vacuum port, also today I noticed my fuel pump was covered in oil, there is no obvious leak, any ideas Thanx in advance
I responded to your other thread where you are talking about waiting at the window chasing your tail awating your carb haha. about the oil on the pump. remove and clean thoroughly then re-install. then if it starts to build up, you'll find the culprit.
what brand adapter are you using?? weber. summit racing. the weber adapter sucks ass.. they tend to have leaks i dunno why so i changed mind out and put in the lc engineering spiral adapter than everythingg was all good
I am using the adapter plates that came with the weber,. I wiped down the engine compartment last night when I got home today everything was soaked I'm concerned that this may turn into a disaster,. has anybody else experienced this issue also today while testing things out I noticed the emission control pump turning itself when I bought the RPM's up I found this odd as the belt was removed by PO. any ideas
you still have your smog pump installed? mine was removed when i bought it... can you tell were the leak is from, Did you use the High tack or w/e they tell you to use on the gaskets for the adapter plate?
the diections said not to gasket sealer, I thought about doing it anyways,.. But I've had good luck just following directions in the past, What do you think,.
im 90 % sure i used some high tack for that cheesy paper gasket that they gave me ill take a look tomorrow to dark 2nite and about to hit the sack i have the paper work in my truck and i usually write down what i did so i know... it seems my memory is as long as my... yeah lol
so Ive decided it my return hose on my fuel pump thats leaking, does anyone know how much p.s.i. the stock mech pump pushes, is anyone running a 32/36 straight from a stock mech pump?
your oil leak issue is the fuel pump itself. there is a small weep hole on the bottom of the pump. the internal diaphram has an oil seal that eventually wears out. once it wears out, it leaks oil all over the place via that small weep hole. replace the pump and all gaskets and you will be golden again. while you are there, replace all your fuel lines. oil soaked lines dont last
before I use my spare fuel pump, is it cool to run straight from the stock pump to a weber 32\36 I ask because the paperwork i got from weber said something about a In-line fuel regulator, do I need that or are they just trying to sell me more **** I don't need
