I popped the hood today and noticed I had some coolant leaking (91 22RE). what seemed odd was that the coolant seems to have leaked out from the radiator cap area and not the overflow (not sure where the leak point is, but it pooled along the top of the rad, which seems relatively new). I checked the tube for blockage and found none. I figured maybe I overfilled when I topped it up the other day, so I removed a bit of coolant and took a decent drive and let it idle for a bit and did not see any more leakage. Any ideas? thanks -Thomas
if you over filled the radiator it would have dumped it out of the resevoir. you might just need a new radiator cap. do you see any leaks around the seems of the radiator? you can pick a new radiator up at auto zone for about $120 maybe cheaper, i cant find my receipt. its not hard to change out.
The cap and radiator look pretty new when I looked over them. It's good to know the rad's are only $120 if I have to go that route - I'll give the seams a thorough checking later this evening. thanks for the reply.
