I am a noobie here but not to truck forums. I thought I would post up some pics of my project. It is a 1980 4x4. I see this site is mostly 2wd with a few 4x4s every once in a while. When I get this done I want to find a 1980 2wd and do a frame off resto street truck.. I have a lot of marlin crawler parts going on this thing. I am going to keep it close to stock, appearance wise, other than the beefed up suspension and rock protection. I am going to be installing a 93 GM fuel injected 4.3 and 4l60e matted to the stock t-case (stuffed with marlins 4.7 low gear set). I just got it back from the media blasters today. Progress will be slow but steady. I bought the truck in april 08 and drove it home. It was in nice shape and I was just going to drive it.... but one thing led to another and somehow I ended up eyeball deep in a frame off job.

Well my wife has fell victim to the piss poor economy and lost her job. So our budget is a lot tighter now than before. So I have decided to use the suspension parts I bought from marlin crawler on my 4runner and abandoned the idea of a frame off resto on the 80. I still needed like 6,000 dollars for everything I wanted to do to the 80. for less than 500 I can install all the suspension and solid axle under the 4runner. So that is my plan. I am parting out the 80 truck if anyone needs anything. I will post pics in the for sale section.
