Ok, i have a friend that is a bit of a scrounger. so am i..lol

So i was looking at all the stuff we have and it seems i have enough crap to make my bed tilt :) "some hinges, Heavy duty air piston's and pins."

So my question is.... should i put a side tilt bed on it, or not?!?!

    What do you guys think?

With the hinges and stuff i have, i will be able to return it to stock in about half a day if i ever need to.

I'm going to be running air for my horns, and have the bed off the truck now anyway.

Im old school so I grew up seeing tilt beds, splatter paint & pastel paint jobs lol. I like the tilt bed idea & think you should do it!! Hell youve already got the late model mini & its not like you cant change it back to stock if you dont like it.

I like the tilt bed look. Lets ppl see your air bag and frame work underneath. Good for shows and just showing off. But it is still you call dude!

it is if you have already planed the tilt...lol

answer me this. do you have to move the bed back a bit so when it swings up, the bottom of the bed does not hit the cab?
I cant see the tilt bed hitting anything, but wont the bottom of the bed get closer to the cab as it goes up on a dump bed??

oo and ya, pics as soon as i start..lol

In the works is an entire paint redo as well :)

If you can design the lift and stuff correctly, it should clear the cab.

Not sure, but on some of the older American chevy's i've seen, the hood has this Double arm hinge where it'll move it up and swing away to clear the body work.

try that! and keep workin on a design before you shoot for it. I'm sure you can pull it off anyhow

it wont hit the cab bro, unless theres something over-hanging the tray.
think of it like the radius of a circle, the closest it will ever be to the cab will be when its horizontal

    and dude, dumptruck!

it all depends where the hinge pivot is. if its up high, it can cause that front edge to move forward. keep it low, and it should clear. side or rear tilting is cool to me. that 620 looks sick with that topper. i wanna find one for my yota. although if i do, it will probably never come off. pre-trekker....or, a pre-pre-4runner :D

Dude I am so with you on the topper Idea, only thing is Where in the Heck to find one that will fit and look right?
