its fun for sure. i used my tmaxx on dirtbike jumps. i would send it a good 20-30' through the air and land perfect. since it has brakes, you can adjust the pitch while in the air. the only problem with my nitro 4tec is i have no where to drive it. the little bastard does over 60mph straight out of the box.

I've heard the electric rc cars are alot cheaper to maintain.

my elec. 4tec cost like $200 ran about 25mph. then i put in an upgraded motor which was another $100, and an electronic speed control that was another $150. that made it run about 35mph.

the nitro 4tec cost right about $400 inlcuding gas and batteries, and runs over 60. the good batteries for electric get pretty exspensive, and don't sound as cool as a 30,000rpm 2 stroke!

I'm running a Traxxas Slash with a mamba 7700KV motor in it, threw my stock tires off the wheels on the first session. It amazed me how a little electric motor could make tires balloon like that before flying off.

You should be able to pick up a used Nitro fairly cheaply these days. I recommend electric just for the shear fact that once you are set up, the operating costs diminishes compared to buying fuel for your nitro.

electric and nitro........ ive done em both.

electric.... unless you have lipo batteries and brushless motor system, you are not fast. i had them both in a b3/t3 buggy long travel hybrid and it was fastest thing around. no other car, gas or electric could touch it. it was once clocked at 69mph. :runaway:

the first video shows two buggies. a white one and a blk one. i drove my buddy's white one and pulled off a quadruple backflip (x4 consecutive backflip rotations) mine was the black one and shows its speed on the big dirt straight......

i also had a BB .21 powered rc10gt........ it was rediculously fast and thing could fly like nothing else...... my truck is in the opening shot doing the backflip.

ok...... if you wanna spec it that way...... my mamba brushless system was like running a 3500hp 4cylinder motor that didnt weigh anything in a sand rail chassis...... it was so stupid fast (as you can see in the video) it would flip itself at any given moment when i blipped the throttle

my bb 10gt was like having a 2500 hp v8 in my toyota pickup........ here's a better picture of my LT setup.....

yea....... they were fun. just one thing you gotta remember... its a hobby and this hobby can get real expensive, real quick!

if its speed you are after its all a matter of how big your wallet is...... i know i had well over $800 bux in that rc10gt...... not to mention about a few hundred dollars in extras that in the very end, i probably got $300 out of..... so

my suggestion.... get a deal on someone that is "getting out" of the sport and pick up a good car. buying anything new is a joke and a real ripoff about anywhere you go. trust me. i did this for 10 years on and off.....

i might get back into it but as it is, i have full size hobbies that require my full size wallet :D

agreed. i sold all my trucks for $100 a piece. the starter for my losi was over a hundred by itself, and i included when i sold the truck. but i was getting married and the place we married at charged $250 an hour so they had to go. but my wife promised me she would buy me anyone that i wanted so thats how i got my nitro 4tec.
