took a power ball to the starion's today and here's what i accomplished within 30 minutes on one wheel...... Shot with X400,D580Z,C460Z at 2009-04-12 Shot with X400,D580Z,C460Z at 2009-04-12 Shot with X400,D580Z,C460Z at 2009-04-12
have a few idea's floating around but im not sure.......trying to decide...... that and im looking around at other wheels and what colors are available... its kind of a hard choice
Keep the inners that grey color for a clean factory look. Also have a wheel shop put the wheel weights inside of the rims.
yea, the weights will be taken care of since im getting different size tires put on. i hate the way they do those weights..... it defaces a wheels good looks
Yeah, the rims look better than new! Just throwin out an idea here. What if you did black or the color of your truck on the grey areas?
gonna try 205/50 mounted on 16x8 with -10 offset all the way around.... rear tires are gonna get about 1/2" shorter, stretch the side wall i tiny bit more and stay relatively in the same area. should have less rubbing while in turn and compression as well. front im going shallower offset (stick out more) with same size tire, stretch tire in more so it should relatively clear and rub less (im hoping)
yea, im surprised how well they shined up too im thinking about going with a dark almost bronze color in the center...... not quite sure..... imma try it on one wheel and see how i like it. if not then ill try a gunmetal color
yea..... with the rears that ive currently run, the stretch was juuuuuuuust under what i wanted but baaaarely rubs on even compression. with the slightly smaller sidewall and diamiter, it should bring them in just far enough oh........... and just a sneak peeek.... i picked these up this morning. Man, Alex is that a fresh looking bumper? Can we work on that this Wed? Since your going with a shorter tire then its possible that I need to do that too. So instead of runnin 225/40/18's in the front, maybe i need to go with 215/30/18's to minimize my rubbing issues?
you can go the same route but the ride is gonna be more bumpy with less tire there...... i just say we clear the fender wells the right way. no, this is a completely different bumper. the one i have now is off a 87 4x4 (3 peice) bumper. the one i just bought is off a 88 2wd (1 peice) its gonna bolt right on into place
Sorry to thread jack SD, but on my truck's rims, they just assume to put them on the inside anyway, but asking them should work too. I agree, wheel weights deface rims looks, especially low-pros. Rims look awesome by the way.
gotta give credit where its due........ you may recall this truck project.... this is where i got the idea to go with the setup from Shot with X400,D580Z,C460Z at 2009-04-14 Shot with X400,D580Z,C460Z at 2009-04-14 thanks. yea, the wheel shop i went to was kind of a "budget shop" so thats all they had at their disposal..... ill be getting the new tires on the wheels rebalanced tomorrow.
Sounds good, funny that you bring up his truck, if I had a two wheel drive instead of a four, that's something I'd want to do myself. He did an excellent job on that truck. And the Rodeo valance accents well. I never would have thought of making a functional hood scoop using the OE body line... I kinda thought of making my truck's look more EVO style whenever I get the money. And then his two You Tube videos where he did the Smoky Nagata burnouts and took off.
yea, i may try and venture on this scoop mod myself but approach it a little bit differently yup..... i have an "idea" of what i wanna use but ill see what i come up with. when i do, ill make sure to post it
