Hello group, I'm new and also new to Toyotas, so please forgive me with dumb questions. I'm refreshing a gauge cluster on my 1988 Toyota. I bought some Led T5 from Amazon. Only one turn signal works, and the other one makes a noise like it's flashing real fast, but no light working.. and NONE of the other lights work at all... Did I get the right lamps? Or are these just cheap Chinese lamps that don't work or do I need to add a resistor or something? Any help appreciated... TIA
Sorry guys... I figured it out... I'm an idiot, and got the wrong lamps...PLUS can't figure out how to delete this thread...
LEDs will only light when the current goes the right way. and you cant delete, your mistake will live online forever now lol
Not to step on your toes on this, but, most of the LEDs available for use in our vahicles, and a lot of the 12v LEDs I've bought for my outside use at home, have electronic control boards that don't require any particular polarity. You are right though if using just an LED with a resistor.
