So I was wondering if there were any aftermarket cams that are unmarked? Reason why I ask is because I was convinced there was an aftermarket cam when I bought the truck due to how much the engine rocked when revved. Anyways, had to change the valve cover gasket so figured that was a good time to check if it was stamped so I can identify it. No stamp...what would cause the engine to rock like it has cams if it is a stock cam?

Please note that I'm still learning

Worn motor mounts could be one issue, at least the engine would seem free. Other things to consider are worn lobes on the cam or bad cam timing. Possibly a bad accelerator pump(if carburetted). Poor tune...
Any of those could cause a rough enough running scenario to make the engine jump around.

Thanks for the reply. I'll have to double check the timing when I have a day off from work. I have a 22re and I had a friend who suggested that it may be that the previous owner tricked out the EFI. Personally I'm not too sure what that means but I hope there is a way to "un-trick" the EFI since I'm not racing the truck.
