@RN23CB Great job man, love the truck. Which center console is that? Can you post a link please?

Thanks man! Center console is made by Tuffy. I got mine from Ebay. It's their universal 6.5" version.

Got the carpet installed and started fiberglassing the kick panel speakers this weekend.

Those kick panels are going to be nice when you're done with them

Where is your fuse panel at? That's the main reason why I haven't already installed kick panel speaker pods like you're doing. I also didn't think my boots would fit very well if I reduced the foot space

Was the fiberglass difficult to peel from the painters tape? How thick did you make the fiberglass?

Fuse panel is mounted to the dash and upper part of kick panel. I'm not fiberglassing the whole kick panel as one unit. I'm using ABS sheets to make kick panel walls and fiberglassing speaker pods separately on the bottom corner area. I plan on bolt them together internally. You might be able to create more foot space by placing speakers higher and angle them toward the side walls. I don't know how it'd affect the sound quality though.

I used aluminum foil on top of the painters tape. I would not recommend using just the tape. I used fiberglass cloth as base layer because it's easier to shape curve surface with the cloth first. Then put a layer of fiberglass mats while in the vehicle to prevent warping when I take them out. And put another layer of mats for extra strength.

Speaker pods are done and painted. Took longer than expected. Had to remake the kick panels out of plywood. ABS sheet was too flimsy to hold the speaker pod.

Your truck has a piece of upholstered kick panel trim there behind the speaker pod? Is that stock or did you add that when you did the carpeting?

Yeah I made those out of plywood so I can use the tee nuts on the back to secure the speaker pods. My upholstery guy said he can get those upholstered the same day so I was in a rush and didn't take any pictures.

I always thought the kick panel speaker pods would be perfect. Really hate how so many people are quick to cut a hole in the door. Sucks you had to repair that but it all turned out good.

Since it's a long weekend I've attempted to fabricate a center console out of Napa cup holder and a shift boot I found at a junkyard. Cut the cup holder in half and using just the front half. Forgot to take picture before I threw away the back half so I found a pic on Napa website. Made a fiberglass housing for the cupholder and plywood frame around the shift boot. I'm going to bond the two using fiberglass. Hopefully I can pull it off and not look too weird.
