So I found some rear struts from a Honda crv (unsure the year) at work the other day. The diameter was the same as the stock springs, but they were about 3-4 inches taller than the sink springs, but figure they were free. So its worth a shot. They got me 2 inches of drop, which was what I was going for. They seem a little softer when I shook the truck, but it needs shock anyway. Now on to the questions. How much drop should I expect if I pull the middle leaf spring and flip the overload? Will flipping the overload make it ride like poop? Do I flip the overload over or just move it to the top of the leaf pack? Thanks in advance!
Pulling the middle leaf will make it ride stiffer and a little crappy but bearable. Flipping the OL to the top of the leaf pack will make it ride extremely bad. Literally flipping it doesnt seem to do much. i pulled the middle leaf on mine and with some KYB gas-a-just shocks it rode good(only drove on those shocks after i notched it)
Moving the overload to the top only gave me 1/2 inch. I don't dare flip it over for fear of a horrible ride. Looks like I'm going to have to pony up some cash and get blocks and u-bolts.
It's been a while, but I've got it on 4 inch blocks. It oohs Looks good, but I think the drive shaft is too far into the trans. I had to make a bracket of sorts to move the carrier bearing about an inch forward. Now I think it's too far forward. I'm kinda confused on how to fix it. But I did get some sweet new wheels!
