Oh and those door panels are not the stock ones. i made those about 4 years ago when i was like 15 or somethin. made them out if 1/8 inch backing board. and i made the grooves for the plastic clips and everything, but the panel was a little too stiff and it kept popping off. hence the screws haha

I used spray adhesive that you can get anywhere, like autozone etc. It worked surprisingly well, and thanks jaybee!

dont be afraid to tackle it, ive never done interior stuff, and like i said, it looks better in person. haha. It really isnt hard at all though. and for fabric and materials i would say go to joannes or hobby lobby, and wait till they have their sales. gotmy material 40% off:waytogo:

did you use just normal fabric or a more industrial/ thicker harder material?

I was just worried if i use normal fabric it might tear or rip easly

No i just used regular suede from joannes. i dont think anything will really tear, the thicker the material, the harder it will be to manipulate, i guess you could say. like the vinyl i had on my panels before didnt really cooporate that well

ok thats good to know. I planned on taking your idea and adding a little style to the door panel as well. I planned on taking some 1/4 or 1/2 plywood and mounting it to the original before i wrap the fabric. that way it will give it kinda a 3D look to it almost.

I will be starting on it next week so Ill post pictures as I go.

You might want to consider how well your window crank handle and inner door release will fit if you add that much thickness to the panel.
Not sure what year your ride is or if electric windows, but on my 1978 that setup wouldn’t work. Hate to see you make all that effort only to find out you can’t use it.
