I just bought a 65 Stout a couple weeks back with a 67 3r motor. Does anyone know of a mechanic in the Northwest that works on these trucks? I just get shrugs when I asked the usual mechanics that have worked on Japanese and German cars for me in the past here in Portland. Maybe it's because parts are so hard to get? Any info would be very helpful. Thanks

Not the answer youre looking for but swap in a 20R or 22R

yeah I know that would likely be the easiest route. But for the time being at least the engine is in good enough shape that I'm going to try and keep everything stock I may be singing a different tune if I can't find parts for the clutch and brakes however. these old trucks are rare and I'd like to keep it as bone-stock as I can

Hey @65stoutpdx - How's the truck? Did you ever find a good mechanic in pdx who'll work on these old trucks?

I have a '70 Hilux that I've done a lot of work on myself, but I'm not the best mechanic and would love to have someone in mind when I inevitably get in over my head.

There's another Stout (white) here in NE pdx that I walk by every now and then. Hoping to run into the owner and ask him the same.
