Currently my front is lowered with might max lowering springs and the rear is 4" angled blocks with a leaf removed. I know that there is a lowering leaf pack for newer trucks but are there any alternatives for my 75? I plan to 4 link it down the road, just dont the the funds for it.
There was one guy on here that said the lowering leafs from a newer truck would fit the second gen trucks. Dont think anyone on here has done it tho
Dude that said they would work said the measurements for the 79+ leafs were the same for the second gen. He was a tech at toyota i think. Search for his build thread "polished t(u)rd" 78 build up section
I would just put a custom leaf pack together using your existing main leaf...and some donor springs from junk yard trucks. With my beltech leaf springs, it doesn't take much weight to bend them over the axle...it actually looks dangerous. I haul stuff often enough to worry about it.
Also, @ least an inch of the drop you get from the beltechs is from what is essentially a block of cut down leaves added to the top of the pack.
Has to be. Im about an inch away from the frame and ive got a 3" block, 1" bolt on fron Beefed and middle leaf pulled from the pack. I run air shocks to avoid bottoming out
Sounds like the 4 link might be happening sooner than later, lol. How much fabrication work do you want to do now? When looking at my rear end I thought frenching the front spring hangers into the frame and eliminating the shackles for slider boxes would be a good way to get it 1-2" lower without touching leaf springs. Would have to notch the frame, but that's a given. Dunno how it would actually work out in the end, but seemed like it could work since I plan on my Hilux replacing my 93 pickup once it's completed and I need to still be able to haul crap.
