new to the site, just recently moved to Washington from Southern California. Well I'm here cause I need some info. I'm working on my 92 2wd pick up with a 01-04 jdm 3rz swap. All drive train is in, but I have some clearance issues with the sway bar, cross member, and steering drag link. At the moment crossmember is off and so is the sway bar. Steering linkage is still on but it rubs on oil pan. Looked all over internet but can't seem to find fixes for this problem. All I can find is a bunch of 4wd info. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.
I haven't looked into the 2/3rz swap recently, but as you've found out, most swaps for the 2wd aren't documented in great detail, where as the 4wd has aftermarket support and detailed write ups are common. Most swaps have clearance issues. 4wd trucks can be lifted (suspension or body) to give more room to work with (easier). You'll probably have to modify your mounts to relocate the engine higher, possibly modify the oil pan? Idk, just saying...I don't know and you'll probably have to find out for yourself. Or see if this post turns anything up.
Thank you for your response. Yeah, I think I'm going to have to fab something to lower the drag link, I found a pitman arm to lower it a couple inches, now just have to find idler arm or fab a bracket to lower it. Going to keep looking. Thanks
