    Hello,

As the title states, I am looking for a complete pre-1979 G series 8" rear end. I am located in San Diego, CA. Let me know what you got.

    Thanks!

Just the differential or the whole axle assembly?
If just the differential, try sourcing an 8" off a 2wd v6 pickup. Should be the same.

If your looking for a GO82 (1 ton, 8") they were used on Toyota motorhomes and c&c for places like u-haul box trucks.
The 8" 6 lug off a regular pickup WILL NOT WORK.
These axles are hard to find in good shape. There was a big problem with axle shafts snapping due to the use of fake duel wheels (foolies). They put too much stress on the shafts.
If your looking to replace a motor home axle, this is not the one you want.

Hi, I am actually looking for a complete rear end to swap into a 1981 Toyota startlet. I heard that the pre 1979 pickups have a wheel mounting width of 53" and are compatible with the 2wd v6 pickup third members so I can swap in a supra LSD.

Your information is good, I have a '76 axle sitting next to the garage. 2wd V6 or any 79-95 4x4 (including 79-85 front) rear 3rd will drop right in
