Ok im getting sick of these other minis out here passing my ass on the highway. I have a 2rz sitting on the side in my garage with a w59 trans. The problem is,my dog chewed some of the wires on the 2rz and i am not much of a wire guy. My biggest question is, if i get a harness for the 2rz from the junkyard will it wire up to the 22re dash? I have a 97 or 98 2rz and my re is a 91 . Someone please help
This thread has some good pics. It's a 4x4. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/toyota-truck-4runner/367844-2rz-swap-finshed.html Here's a quote from the thread "There is only a few wires to hook up. The motor i got was from a manual and i got everything from the same truck as a package deal. I think there was only like 5 wires to hook up for the computer. The rest of them is the alternator and starter. It was a little more difficult than my 5.0 swap but not that hard."
Thanks guys , i am currently stuck with my 22re as of right now so my rz will have to wait . I did get it in my car tho. I had to make my own mounts with dom tubing and pretty thick metal plates . I put poly bushings from leafsprings into the dom tubing to give it less vibration and stuff from the rock of the motor .i might order wiring harness from painless wiring ? If im not mistaken thats what its called . Then i will show some pics of my update .
Periodically check my build thread. I just bought a 2rz to swap my 22re. I haven't got started on it yet but will soon.
Which Ignition system does it run? Does it have a distributer, 2 coil packs or 4 coil packs? If its a distributer ignition 2rz you can always carb it!
Its a coil pack but idk if two or 4. How could you tell . I dont know what car/truck it came off of but it was in my ae86 when i bought it . I have another 2rz that came out of an automatic 97 tacoma . Could i use that harness to my one in the car ?
