ok guys i have a 91 single cab 2x RE and i recently put the batt intake swap and it ran great for a month then i let it sit for two days or so decided to make a store run and when i go through the gears it has like a sputter . Idk thats the closest thing i can get it to my RE sounds like side drafts not getting enough fuel . I need to check the timing again but i did a few notches on the afm adjusted it about 4 clicks so im running lean ish. I just pulled the plugs earlier and cleaned them no bad fouling or any sort i was running rich but not too major .someone know where im going with this?

could it be sucking air in thru gaps in the piping and clamps?

Otherwise undo anything unnecessary for the mod and see if it helps.

No i checked all those already and its fine. To me it doesnt seem to be a vacuum leak doesnt seem to be anything internally. I cant figure it out . Sometimes itll sputter like its not getting enough gas then sometimes it sputters like a fouled plug or some ignition issue but i didnt touch anything from the wiring for ignition

AFM can be very temperamental. Could be TPS also.

Make sure the idle screw on the throttle body is properly sealed with the o ring. If its easy to turn most likely the screws not sealing. Also try giving the throttle body i good cleaning.

Best way is to change the oring. You can get it at dealerships or on LC engineering. A new oring will hold it enough and prevent it walking out on its own. I dont recomend lock tight. Or anything on the threads. The idle screw adjust the idle and it should never be all the way tightened or all the way out. If im not mistaken on a operating temp 22r the idle should be at 700 RPM for a manual transmission and 750 RPM in gear with an automatic. Give or take 150 Rpms.
