I'm new to Toyotas so here's a stupid question. I have a 1988 pickup how can you tell if its a 1/2 ton or 1 ton? My pickup has 5 lug wheels. Do the 1 tons have 6 lug? Thanks

Check your Vin. If its a short bed regular cab, its not. I think all 1tons had long beds?

I have a '73 and a '78, if you look at the leaf springs on the '73 they are a good bit thicker than the '78 and there are more of them in the pack as well. Does that mean my '73 might be a 1 ton? It's a short bed, it's an RN22 and I can't really find any info on that VIN code.

I wish my title said whether or not mine was a 1 ton.
