Well I found a new issues that I am trying to work out. Under full throttle my truck leans out and so far no luck fixing it. I am runing 15.8 in stead of the 13.8 that I want.

I can pull the efi fuse out and will temp fix the issue but the ecu re learns and makes it lean.

Forgive me for asking, but Ive seen it done both ways. I have seen ppl set the head, then do the cam gear to ensure alignment, then install the timing cover and Ive seen what appears that you have done, which is secure everything well and install the head after the gear was installed to the chain? I didnt think the gear would fit through that hole...

The chain and gear fit through the hole, and personally I think it makes it easier to line it all up. I put the cover on before the head and it helps keep the chain from jumping teeth on the bottom sprocket

Sorry there is a tool missing from the pictures that allows you to do it the way I did it

So I drew a picture to explain how to make's life easy as piss when doing timing chains

ps you may have to click the link to read it better

if ya can't read it still this will help

All you do is cut out a triangular shape out of peac of pile wood and then stuff it between the tensioner and the guide this will lock the chain in place and will not move even if you turn the motor up side down and the cam gear is flopping all over the place

That was my concern, I saw the tensioner fully extended and was like how is this compressed w/o the chain jumping....

    Cool. I'll try this.

I'm not on the book of faces. Sucks to hear its wrecked though. Although if someone wrecked my truck it wouldn't bother me much since its all the parts that matter not the junk their bolted to. :D
