The PO butchered the rad support and removed the hoodlatch to install an intercooler. This made it neccessary to use hood pins. I installed aerocatch style hood pins. They looked cool but after a while they would bind up when I tried to lock them. They are plastic and I am sure that they would eventually break at the worst time. Leaving me in the position of finding a way to keep the hood closed to make it home.

I cut the upper section from a junked truck a while ago ame modified it to bolt on to my existing support. If I ever need to remove the motor or change the timing belt, I can remove the piece for more room.

So, I went to Hyperfest last weekend and saw some awesome examples of plastidipped cars. Decided to give it a try. Bought the hvlp spray system and gun metal base coat.

Opened the bed cutout wider to mount the dual exhaust tip. Sounds throatier now.

I see you are in Canton NC. There should be plenty of these motors ( lexus SC400 / Ls400) in your closest LKQ salvage yards. There are plenty of LS400's in my area yards. You will need the SC400 oilpan and exhaust manifolds to make the swap work.

These damn 1uz swaps are addictive. I raped my poor toyota starlet test fitting a 1uz vvti motor.

It's very tight but I think it will work with a non vvti motor and a 1.5" subframe drop. If I do the swap, I'm gonna paint it olive green and call it Ninja Turtle.

The truck has been running great. I did find a crack in the driverside exhaust manifold. Will fix that soon. Have shown the tailights to a few cars on the highway. Late model turbo golf, the usual all motor hondas, sn95 GT, srt neon, new hond civic SI's, G35/350's. Best race was against a Jeep SRT8. We went at it three times on the highway and I could hold him off until around 110mph. The jeep owner followed me off the exit to see what was up. He loved it.

A good friend of mine FINALLY sold me his fox body 8.8 with lsd and 3.08 gears.

He didn't have the axle shafts but I was happy to find out that SN95 v6 (7.5")axle shafts are identicle. I grabbed the disc brake setup while pulling the axles. It's gonna be nice.
