My 76 hilux has the stock 4 speed transmission. I think it's the w42. Not to sure. My question is is that sometimes it will shift and go right into gear like a new car and then sometimes it's like to have to force it into gear. I was thinking it was the shifter seat bushing. But I can't seem to find any info about it. Any help would be great

hey. just saw your post. it could possibly be the shifter seat bushing inside your shifter plate. also, these clutch forks are forged steel and this usually happens (happened to my 5spd w series tranny or it coulda been a G57 which had a steel housing) The clips popped off the throwout bearing housing

This is what the shifter looked like after it broke off from my tailshaft from a tailshaft seal failure which caused a catastrophic failure spitting my driveshaft out

Slave isint leaking. Or bad. I'm going to pull the shifter and check the bushing. Where can I get the bushing if it is bad? I can't seem to find one for that transmission? Of that dosent work then I'm going to check the pins.
