I put a brand new fuel pump in Tuesday. It went down today Sunday.my daughter run it dry of gas.It still shouldnt have went down that fast.Even if it did run dry of gas.Is that right or not?
Sorry to hear that happened to you. What did you find out about this issue? I'm still awaiting payment for the other parts you purchased
like should the pump have died like that? usually it takes a few repeated times of running low or empty on gas but it can happen. the fuel is what cools the pump itself, run low on gas and the pump gets warmer and the crud from the bottom of your gas tank gets forced in the system. thats why you should never drive on lower than a quarter tank
Im still having trouble.I know I still owe you you Erick.ill get payment to you.Im trying to get this truck lined out first.I took the tank off.the gas inside the tank was split in1 place and had a wnole in another.I fixed that and still no lock.So I replaced the fuel pump and im still having trouble. It like it not getting enough gas.
I cleaned out the fuel lines.I threw the first pump away.the second pump I had to return it for a replacement.I had the carb rebuilt also.I cant figure out whats wrong with it.Anybody got any ideas?
sorry to hear. usually when this poor running condition occurs u gotta pull the plugs hit them with propane and a brass wire wheel don't dirty the porcelain then regap them to .32
I changed the fuel filter every time I changed fuel pumps.I put in hew plugs when i got the truck about a month ago.So do I still need to blast them with propane and use a brass wire brush and regap?
Thanks Erick for the help.I adjusted the carb today and got it doing alot better. But it has a bad miss in it now.Could this be a head gasket down?
Yes ive checked.I have also changed every vacuum line on it.I can figure out whats wrong with it.unless its a head gasket down. The carb was rebuilt by a person who knows there doing and has a good reputation for rebuilding carbs. But could I still have carb problems?
Yes. Have you tried spritzing some carb cleaner over the top of you carb yet? To see if its running too rich or lean...
Give it a spray... Rpm comes up- lean Rpm goes down-rich Rpm doesn't really change much- good That's a rough way to tell, lol, but it helps.
Alright,I got it almost all the miss out of it.but it still has a small miss in it.I cant find it.Somebody tell me what might be wrong.
