Hey guys my name is Sean I'm 17 I just picked up a pick up 78 longbed to be exact. got it for $500! Ill post some pictures asap but I'm new to this so I might be asking a few goofy Questions please forgive my stupidity haha thank you all in advance!

 

Welcome Sean! Glad you found this site. There's lots of knowledgeable folks on here. I was 17 when I got my truck. It went to 2 proms, Grad night, and a lot of cruising in HS. After 33 years, it's still a GREAT truck.

What are some of your ideas for your truck?

Nice starting point. Check out my 78 for ideas of stuff to do to change it up looks wise. I'm always making dash and wheel changes. I've got plenty of spare parts too.

thanks guys! I've got no big plans for it. yet but im lowering pretty soon and then ive got some wiring stuff to go through and just fix stuff haha but some dash stuff would be great ill let you know what a need cause its all torn apart. Thank you so mch i actually read your whole build thread and i was super bummed to find out my truck used to be that beautiful red and someone repainted it!

 

Mine is actually orange. Diff paint code for red. Either way, I dig it. And thanks, I've been messing with it for 6 years. And let me know what kinda switches or parts ya need. I have about everything except a dash pad. Have a few clusters, lots of little parts. Lot of window cranks and interior door handles too. I've got chrome pulls with stainless land cruiser bases.
