Its a lokrite type locker made by genuine gear... Having problems with my photobucket account, standby or PM me a phone# and i can text some to you. *just remembered there is a pic on my build thread... '83 section... thanks!
That's good enough. I ran a lock right in the front of my 4runner. I'm trying to decide if I want to run a full on locker, or if just an LSD would better suit me. I liked the 4runner on road, and the looks I got from all the noise, but I'm not sure with this build.
You'll hear a few clicks when pulling out of a turn at low speed, once the power is put on its on! My exhaust was pretty loud so it didnt bother me much and i didnt drive it often so it didnt kill my tires either...
lock-right lockers are very stout and badass! i love the "ratcheting" sound they make on tight turns lol
If it were a more usable ratio, I'd be on this. But a 4.56 is a bit tall for my daily 2wd lowrider. I can't justify the cost based solely on the lock right.
Its actually not that bad... Although, I did have the W58 trans... Throw me a number that might make it worth the locker...
What is this F series diff out of, this pumkin and third member stuff is weird lingo as "diff" complete differential hub to hub with or without springs, "diff centre" the central part containing the crown wheel and pinion as a one piece and "diff housing" where the centre, axles, hubs, centre and springs all come together within to make a differential. Toyota Differential Gear Guide Now as I understand a US spec stout had an E series diff centre which F and G series were able to fit in the same housing, US spec models of the wonder wagon had LSD E and later F series centres but the inernal spider gears were different in axle size and spline, so simple interchangeability becomes a pain in the arse. Sorry I am just aiming at expanding my own knowledge and some things are not as easy as mom and mum
The F series is out of 79-83 and probably others, but I dont know forsure. When we say pumkin and third member it means what you would call a diff centre.
Thank you The F series was normally in the hiace, corona and celica of the 70's and very early 80's, the hilux as I understand had G series here for larger axles being rated as having a one metric tonne payload
They switched from G series to F series in Hilux's here in 1979. My 77 has a G code. Sorry for hijacking the thread! look at it as a free bump
