    Hey everyone,

Got this and its my first yoda about a year ago. Its running a little rough (about 200,000mi) was sitting for a long time and looked nasty.

With a little elbow grease it cleaned up nice. some rust on all the top surfaces. gonna grind it all off and rattle it for now.

Then it was stolen the day after I polished it all up! then recovered about a month later. They took the most random stuff off of it and left it for dead! At least they left the motor and the wheels though. Took the door locks busted my door panels, took my grill emblem! everything out of the bed and broke my camper! etc.

The day before it got stolen.

sat for a little while but now I'm starting to get back to her.

    Night shot!

I love the color. Sorry it got stolen. There's a few ways to put kill switches on these trucks so they can't be taken. Solex locks keeps people out of the doors too.

Thanks, Yeah a kill switch is in "the play book" for now I just take the Rotor with me as my "kill switch" since its a single wire distributor (for now) it has two clips instead of screws. Its effective and easy. any recommendations for a wire to tap into for the kill switch? i.e. color of wire, location of the splice?

    Thanks

The easiest kill switch is a toggle on the keyed power into the fuel pump relay. Its under the steering column on the right. I haven't done it to mine, so I don't know which wire it is of the plug. Test light should solve that. If you have a mechanical fuel pump, the next best is to toggle the actual keyed power from the key. Then nothing will work. Sounds like you have a points ignition distributor. Not so great for power but it is simple. Electronic ignition would be a nice upgrade.

Smart thinking just taking the rotor with you though. Even just disconnecting the battery will slow people down.

Also, those fender flares are awesome. If you decide to sell them I want first dibs :D They look like old bushwhacker flares. A guy on here has a few sets on 75-78s he converted to 4WD.

If you need any dash parts or small stuff for the truck let me know, I have piles of stuff for these trucks. Ive built a few of them now.

Welcome! Good looking truck. I really like that 70's color.

Sorry to hear about it getting stolen. Obviously, somebody needed parts and saw your truck.
There is an e-Bay auction for the grille emblem. I'll e-mail it over to you when I have time to look for it.

Very nice looking! I love that color, but it helps mine is the same green.:waytogo:

The fuel pump relay is right next to the steering column on the passenger side, and if I remember the right wire its the black with red tracer that goes to the pump.. just tap into it right there and find a nice place for the switch..

Welcome! Nice looking truck.. Glad you recovered with minor issues. The previous owner of my truck was telling me that she got stolen but he found it a block away because of a kill switch... It worked and the truck didnt go to far.. Good Luck!

Thanks everyone, Just got a 1980 20r magnetic distributor for it and the GM module + generic coil, gonna do the kill switch and ignition upgrade next week!

I appreciate the kind words. Maybe Ill do a write up if people want me to, after I post some pics of the process. Shouldn't be too difficult.
