I had a pacesetter on my 91 4wd years ago...and seem to remember the collector hung below the frame a bit. We all know how big of a sin that is when your truck is bagged to the frame and bodied...

So does anyone know for sure a header brand and source, maybe even pictures of a bagged toyota 22re with a header?:meemee:

I see some short ones but they all say up to '88. I don't think the head changed since they all say 85-95. They have the bung up high for the O2 sensor. I could cut that off and weld the hole up. Since my sensor is down under the cab....dunno though.

i seem to remember the doug thorley header was above the frame. but they were super pricey and i don't think they make em anymore.

seth from twisted minis ran one on his 79 yota. build thread on here is "her name is frank"

I'm bagged & run LC headers ,only thing that was a little low & hit was the fact that they used a 3-bolt flange which I changed to a 2 -bolt & clocked different!!

You're best bet is to go with a LC header and modify the flange.

I'm running an LC header and it was actually above the frame on my bagged 92 yota
But keep in mind that my truck is Z'd so essentially the motor is higher than stock.
I did have a problem with the flange hitting the floor

Im Z'd as well, but also lowered my engine by1"

I z'd 1.25" and dropped the motor 1" So its technically only a 1/4" higher than stock.

    Are you body dropped ?
If you are did the header clear afterwards?
I'm in the process of body dropping my truck now

Yes, bodied to the rocker...running stock manifold and modified pipe currently...check my build thread below for pics of the body drop process.

My lace setter hangs low on my 78 too. It would either need the 4 legs shortened or a new collector built before the last turn to run the pipe flat with the frame.

I have had some luck using celica headers on the 75-78 trucks. Slight mods needed but always tucked up better. Not sure if they were 1st, 2nd or 3rd gen 20/22r celica headers since they were used. Not sure on the interchange between those. But maybe it'll help ya some.

im gonna run a 84-88 header, and cut the 02 flange off and weld it closed, and get a custom exhaust from there back.
