I've never heard much about stacking blocks. I would say to run the bigger one on the bottom. When I had 4" blocks the top side walls cracked. I got new ones and the same thing happened. So I cut them down to 2-1/4" each and drilled completely through them. Used a 6" long grade 8 3/8" bolt thru both blocks and the leaf pack. Zero movement even without the u bolts. Might be an option to consider just to be safe. I also had new u bolts made at a 4x4 shop. Used the biggest rod that would fit thru my base plate holes. Never had any issues after that. I drive hard and have a built 20/22r motor. Hope this helps.

Stacking blocks is hacktacular at best. Just order up some new ones or hit autozone.

3-inch drop leafs and a 1-inch block is what i'd be looking into if I were going that route. It's a good excuse to replace bushings while you're at it.

I like the idea of the bolt through everything, standardbyker. Hadn't thought of that for keeping everything safe.

Mine started as DJM (dangerous junk metal) blocks. The aluminum style. They are a hollow top style. The walls busted off. I refuse to ever buy aluminum blocks again. I will run solid steel ones anytime I block stuff from now on. But it was the best cure I could think of. With just the long leaf and overload if dropped the back to almost the frame. That's been my rear combo for a few years now.

just spend the money and order 4in angled blocks, you start to get driveline vibes at 4in anyway.
