i always get the look from ricers in my town of ontario calif..since there are minis out here and most of them are ether baged or lifted and since my'n has like a lil jdm look to it ppl always give me the on how clean i have it or the on how low i have it ..hondas always give me the when they try 2 run me cuz they always get smashed on hahaha and guys at school always just give me the old nice truck and girls the old omg its so cute
I havent had too many people try to race me, Those that do, I just say 1st one to the ground wins. And yeah I miss driving mine, It was a bagged daily for over a year, Its been off the road for a year now, Im having withdrawals
TP88, i wanna see more pics of your truck, also what kinda honda's you been smashing on and whats your truck run in the quarter? Also yea here in good ole redneck missusipi.. the 4wd mud truck to lowrider ratio is like 50:1 easily. So when you drop a truck here usually you hear the, why you gonna mess or hack that truck up thing as mentioned earlier. It's a different story in Louisiana just 2 hours away, where i'm from though, you can go to the west bank in new orleans and there are a bazillion bagged trucks there and its a different mentality.
I grew up in So Cal. Now I live in WI. I brought my love of minis with me but it is pretty heavily frowned upon here it seems. For example, I don't know a single person that has one here and I have lived here for 13 years. Most people here don't even drive trucks and if they do its for the purpose of plowing snow. I have never had anyone like my mini. Most of the time I am referred to as "stupid" for even having a Toyota at all. There is a lot of hate for non-american vehicles in WI as a lot of jobs in the American auto industry have been lost here.
ya in the so cal over here there is alot of everything,, but we do have alot of honda civics ricers that are always racing around. i have all stock motor except the intake and i to have beat a couple of them when we race. its not always the amount of HP that lets you win but you got to also no how to drive and how to and when to shift. I used to be a ricer before my mini and i used to go to all the back street illegal races and race. But i love all the mixed feeling i get from everyone about my truck.
I wouldnt say I was a ricer but I have had numerous sleeper civics and my Z. Kids still try to race me in the toy but I dont get it, its fast up and down and thats it, why race?? Nobody ever tried with my Z???
because they think the truck is slow... they know a Z could be fast. just a lil logic. its like bringing a Viper to a street race with civics.
in my town you can drive on the beach and go out into the dunes so everyone has a lifted truck i get a lot of wierd looks from people but my friend is also a hardcore yota guy but his stuff is all 4x4 so we go places and he gets the hype and i get the wierd looks lol but like my dad says low and slow
everyone wants to buy my truck too, they do throw out some decent numbers but i would only consider selling it to another toyota enthusiast, and seeing as everyone whos asked to buy my truck has no idea what it is they wont get it from me, no matter how much cash they wanna fork out
I was selling my 05 Tundra and had a "For Sale" sticker on the back window. The only people who asked me how much, were people who obviously could not afford it. I actually took the sticker off because I was tired of getting stupid questions from homeless guys, and illegals at Home Depot. My mini has been known to draw some attention. I call it "breakin' necks". It has almost caused a few accidents. I get the thumbs up from the old dudes, and "nice truck" every time I get gas. I had a traffic cop tell me he really liked it, and remembered it from when it was primer (6 years earlier). It has gotten me laid. And I've made a lot of friends because of my truck. But, my old man (who is an old fashion hard-ass mofo) always gave me a hard time about wasting a perfectly good truck and **** like that, until last time he visited. It was the first time he saw it complete after the rebuild and bodydrop. He said, " I get it now". As if those words actually meant that he approved. Now he asks me to send him pictures of the build. He didn't have a bad thing to say. I couldn't believe it.
I too always get people asking if it for sale. I ask is there a for sale sign that I don't see on the window, cause no its not. I had a guy in traffic offer me 7k and his mazda pickup. I told him keep the 7k for his ford product you'll need it. My truck was a x-mas gift from my uncle and at the time it did not run. To me all the labor I have in that truck plus the fun I get from driving it I could never sell it.
I get a ton of looks..from young people and old ones thumbs up.. Everyone thinks my truck is a street/strip truck the way the tire looks on it. My 88 Toyota my 82 and the 93 but the 88 gets the most. Females, Hate my truck. Period, end of story. No girl I have ever met has ever complimented it. Guys around 50-early 60's like it, if they know what it is. My family, doesn't understand it one bit. co-workers all drive lifted trucks and Subaru's. From what I hear, I need to move to Guam, or Hawaii because chicks there (mainly Filipino's) dig guys who drive mini trucks.
I get many thumbs up on the Freeway from people quite often, not too many minis roll in my area. also get guys that are rolling stock yotas take pictures with their camera phones on the Freeway. what I hate the most is when I'm at the stop light I get people always asking me " are those supra rims"?
I get dudes with all types of vehicles trying to race me at traffic lights.Even some junky a$$ sentras with loud mufflers.I just laugh.
