Went to the junkyard and got a bunch of goodies. Found some plaid tercel seats I really want. Didn't do anything to the truck except adjust the carb a bit for the warmer weather we've had.

I got restless and went out a few minutes ago. Added my Iceland stickers. A flag on the front side of the door mirror and on oval with the IS on the rear. Ill get pics when its light out.

 

I looked at it and thought oh yeah and sat my alcoholic beverage "today on my truck"...

Today I made metal panels for the dash all day. Heres some pics. I will install them fully tomorrow. Super happy to have a radio again. Its been 3 years with no tunes. They are aluminum. Sanded them with 120 length wise, then hit them with glitter clear. Followed by Krylon X-metals (bomb can candy) purple. May add some clear later. Really sparkles in the sun. Check my build for the full set of pics making them.

 

Did a lot of sanding and paint stripping on body panels...

 

Well I got a clip in the front portion of my hood & started the repair yesterday, had to dewax, & wet sand the area out, & than respray the red in. In doing so I cut into the flames on the very leading edge! So today I resprayed the white pearl mix & 4 coats of clear over that!
Tomorrow will cut & polish & wax . Than ready for this Saturdays show!!

repaired my shifter and installed a new seat from LCE. thank god... having to pull up on the shifter was driving me nuts

Parts truck work:

Removed the rest of the cab, pulling usable parts as I went. I managed to break the windshield in the process, but oh well. I pulled the AC compressor, the AC core, the heater core, all the peddles, the PS resivoir and cooling line, the igniter, the break master and booster, the bumper, the hood latch, cut various old brake lines and grounds, and finally managed to pull the firewall, fenders, and radiator support off in one piece. I still need to pull the E-brake lever out before I get it out to the metal recycling pile.

I think I figured out what I need to know for making the distributor work once I swap engines with Pablo. I'll have the simplest 32/36 system I can manage.

I got the 3.071 pumpkin in the mail, which is going to change my speed at 2000 rpm in 5th gear from 42 to 59 mph. Eventually, I'll get smaller tires to bring that back to 55 mph.

The last thing I did was pull the valve cover and look around. Timing chain and guides look good. It's tempting to put off the engine overhaul and just do a compression test, then try to get it going with the Weber, and drop it in Pablo.

 

got bored and did the crown royal mod to the shift boot.... and polished up my front headlights, grill, and bumper today.
