RN for... holy crap.... 15 years. Helps support my vehicular habit. Aircooled VW and Toyotas. Currently no VW in the stable but two toy projects to suck the funds away rather quickly!
Where in the PNW are you from? Im currently in Kenmore/Bothell are right now For work Im a Union Electrician. IBEW Local 46. 3rd generation wireman Our company specializes in heavy industrial work. So we build Dams, Powerhouses, Wastewater pump stations.
Oh wow, so you must be in the Air Force. I used to be stationed in Beale AFB. I did not know they had them anywhere else in the US. U-2s are a dying breed, aren't they like a 30+ year technology? At Beale, they also had global hawks. UAVs are the future bomber.
I am a veteran of the Navy, I graduated from Universal Technical Institute as a Collision Tech, worked at an Industrial body shop for a while working on wrecked semi trucks, I was in the Air Force Reserves for a while as a vehicle mechanic, then I was working at a Toyota dealership for a while and now I work on semiconductor devices, father of three and a full time student. Oh, BTW, I don't recommend going to big name Vocational school like UTI or Wyotech, and all those other ones. I a good community college will get you in the door anywhere but if you want to go for the specialty programs then YOU SHOULD go to one of those. BMW has a paint and body school that will pay you as you learn but you have to go to one of the bigger named schools. Their body techs start out at $24 an hour and can go as high as $40 and hour. I was selected but UTI screwed me over... Long story...
I also graduated UTI several years ago. Very expensive auto school when you can get the same education for far less $ at a community college if you apply yourself. But it IS a great school. As far as what I do, I build police/ fire/ blm and other emergency vehicles. Been working for a private company in the industry for over 10 years now and I love it.It also keeps my mini project going.
Not sure If I answered this question or not, but....Graduate U of Phoenix in June2013 with Bachelors of Science- Information Systems Securty. Former Air Force Security Forces, Currently #3 in charge of an Autozone....
I agree . I also went to UTI for the hvac program and learned a lot but school was expensive. If I could of done it again I would of worked in the field 1st and then went to school.
Props cinnamon ..I here that U2 is a tuff bird to land .....crazy high altitude spy plain for the win !
Im in Vancouver, right across the bridge from Portland.. I plan on going to just the community college for auto tech.. Thankfully my dad is going to let me borrow all his tools, thats a lot of money I dont have to spend right away..
