Smog pump question

    does anyone know if there is a smog delete kit for the 22r of how I can just run belt to a/c without running belt over smog pump

    Don't have a smog pump but f u want to run a belt skipping it or if its removed .and in need of a short belt .. Either take a shoe string and loop it threw the pullies or. Zip ties and run to your parts store with your make shift measurement and troll threw the belts and find one that is short enough

    the trick most people who do this use is get some string and measure the length of the belt you would need if you didn't run it around the smog pump, and talk to your parts store or mechanic about getting a belt of that length which would be appropriate.

    @scrub88 did you have a smog pump and you removed it? can you post some pics of it

    Lol tuhd I believe we were typing it all out at the same time .. To shay !!

    John mine is a 88 and only thing I have hangin off my block is a alternator . But if your into deleting it just remove it and its associated brackets and grab u a short belt
    I had a air pump same thing pretty much but I just got to I bolting everything ac air pump and all the brackets to clean it up if u have emission test don't remove it

    Then u should be good just remove what you don't want keep note if vacuum lines are involved and cap were needed . And add the short belt good to go

    just an update I took smog pump off and devaned it and its quiet as a mouse now basically it gutted and used as a idler pulley

    Just throwing it out there that even without inspections, it's still illegal to modify or remove emissions equipment. I can hardly complain :D but just want to throw it out there that it's still breaking federal and state law. The only way it wouldn't is moving to a non-california emissions state and converting it to federal emissions (1 O2s, no EGR temp sensor, ECU, etc) Even then its a grey area.

    Just want to burst the bubble that you're all in the clear outside of emissions testing areas.:evil:
